Pope Leo XIV expressed his solidarity with the people of Ukraine and once again called for the resumption of negotiations.
“My heart goes out to the suffering people of Ukraine, who have been living in anguish and fear for years. I call once again for an end to the violence, a halt to the destruction, and for hearts to be opened to dialogue and peace! I hope that the efforts made in recent days to resume negotiations will bear concrete fruit and create space for diplomacy,” the Pontiff wrote on social media.
He called on the faithful to pray that harmony may prevail in every conflict around the world.
