Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in China for a four-day visit.
He landed in the North Chinese city of Tianjin to attend a summit organised by Chinese leader Xi Jinping, along with about 20 other world leaders.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit will last in this port city from August 31 to September 1. Later on September 3, Beijing will host a large-scale military parade to commemorate China’s victory in the Japanese-Chinese and World War II wars is scheduled to take place in Tiananmen Square in downtown Beijing.
The rehearsal on 18 August was attended by 40,000 people, the Renmin Zhibao newspaper reported. Putin will be a guest of the solemn events, the Kremlin reported earlier.
