Romanian President Nicusor Dan has announced his visit to Kiev in autumn at the invitation of his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The (peace) agreement must be fair, long-term and sustainable. Peace must be achieved with Ukraine at the negotiating table. Romania supports the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Ukraine’s security is closely linked to the security of the Black Sea and the security of Europe,” he wrote on social network x after his conversation with Zelensky.
He added that Romania will continue to support Ukraine in all efforts to achieve a just peace.
Zelensky, for his part, said that during the conversation they agreed on the next joint steps in diplomacy, noting that now “everything is decided by President Trump’s determination and the unity of Europe.”
Nicusor Dan began his term as president of Romania won re-election as president on 26 May.
The new Romanian president already visited Ukraine in June, taking part in the Ukraine-Southeast Europe summit in Odessa.
