On the night of 8 August, drones attacked the Krasnodar Krai and the Samara Oblast in the Russian Federation, according to Russian social media groups.
According to local Telegram channels, an attack took place on an oil refinery in Syzran, near the AVT facility and oil storage tanks.
Subsequently, the local governor, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, confirmed the attack.
“Dear residents of the Samara Oblast. One of the industrial facilities in the Samara Oblast was attacked by enemy drones last night (8 August – ed.). Efforts are currently underway to deal with the aftermath. Emergency services are working at the site where the drones crashed. Information regarding casualties is being verified,” he wrote in a Telegram message.
In addition, in the Krasnodar Krai, the Ilsky Oil Refinery sustained damage as a result of an attack by the Don forces. The region’s operational headquarters confirmed the incident. According to official information, ‘debris fell on the refinery’s premises’.
