President Donald Trump plans to hold a number of important meetings at the United Nations this week, particularly with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the leaders of Ukraine, Argentina and the European Union, White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt said Monday.
She noted that this will take place on 23 September.
At a separate multilateral summit, Trump will meet with the leaders of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt, the UAE and Jordan, she said.
On 9 September, the eightieth session of the UN General Assembly opened. During the high-level week of the General Assembly from 23-29 September, leaders of heads of state and government will come to New York.
The Ukrainian delegation headed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will take part in a number of events.
On 16 September, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio suggested that US President Donald Trump is likely to meet with Zelensky next week.
The Ukrainian and US presidents last had a meeting on 18 August. Then they and some European leaders met at the White House after Trump’s summit with Putin in Alaska.
