A drone crashed again in Kazakhstan near the border with Russia

An unmanned aerial vehicle has fallen in the Aktobe region of Kazakhstan, Radio Liberty’s Azattyk Asia Regional Service reports. According to the police department of the region, fragments of the aircraft were found near the village of Alymbet in Kargala district.

“The police department of Aktobe region together with authorised services is conducting verification measures on the fact of discovery of objects similar to fragments from an unmanned aerial vehicle in Kargala district. The object was found outside the territory of the settlement. All the circumstances of the incident are being established,” the report says.

The video of the fall of the alleged fragments from the drone was also published in the Russian Telegram channel Mash.

The village of Alymbet is located in the Kargaly district of Aktobe region. It is located 24 kilometres from Russia’s Orsk, which was attacked by Ukrainian drones today, April 29.

Orsk Mayor Artem Vorobyev confirmed the attack on the region, urging citizens not to go outside and stay away from windows. In addition, the airport of Orsk introduced temporary restrictions on the reception and departure of aircraft.

This is not the first time drones have been found downed in Kazakhstan. At least five drone wrecks were found in West Kazakhstan Oblast alone in 2025.

Border areas of the West Kazakhstan region have previously become the place where military objects have fallen. In particular, fragments of missiles have been found here many times. In the neighbouring Astrakhan region of Russia, the Kapustin Yar military training ground is located. One of the objects that fell in 2018 on the territory of Western Kazakhstan was later identified as a fragment of a missile launched from this range.
