Agro-products production in Ukraine fell by 14% in nine months

The volume of agricultural production in Ukraine in January-September 2025 decreased by 14% compared to January-September 2024, while according to the results of January-August the decline was 8.4%, the State Statistics Service (Gosstat) has reported.

According to its data, during the reporting period, the production of livestock products decreased by 4.4%, while crop production – by 16.4% against the same period of 2024.

At the same time, in crop production, the main decline was in enterprises – 20.9%, while in household farms its reduction was 6.1%.

At the same time, the situation in livestock farming was the opposite: enterprises reduced production by only 1.4%, while household farms reduced it by 8.9%.

A significant drop in production was recorded in Donetsk, Kherson and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts, where production fell by 43.9%, 33.1% and 24.4%, respectively. At the same time, in the case of Donetsk region there was a drop in production of livestock products by enterprises by 18.5 times.

More than 20% reduction in agricultural production also occurred in Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts, which suffer from constant shelling, but besides them Khmelnytskyi oblast is also on the list.

As for growth, according to the results of nine months, it was recorded only in one region, where there was less shelling during the war – Zakarpattya region and amounted to 2.7%, including a threefold increase in the production of livestock enterprises.

As reported, according to the results of eight months of this year, the production of crop production decreased by 9.7%, and livestock – by 4.9%. Including in enterprises in January-August this year, the decline in crop production was 12.2%, while livestock – 2.4%, while in households – 5.3% and 8.6%, respectively.
