US AI startup Abridge has raised $300m in an investment round led by venture capital fund Andreessen Horowitz, the company said in a statement.
Abridge’s valuation in the round, where Khosla Ventures also participated, was $5.3bn.
In February, the company raised $250m at a valuation of $2.75bn.
The new funds will be used to hire scientists, machine learning experts and software developers who will focus on creating new products and building advanced AI infrastructure to support large customers, said Abridge co-founder and head Shiv Rao.
The company’s technology is used to automatically create medical records based on doctor-patient dialogue.
