US-based Amphenol Corp. is buying electrical connector and cable assembly maker Trexon for $1bn.
The agreement requires regulatory approval, Amphenol said in a press release. The company expects to close in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The Trexon acquisition is expected to have a positive impact on Amphenol’s earnings in the first year after the deal closes.
Trexon, headquartered in Boston, has facilities in the US and the UK. The company is primarily focused on manufacturing products for the defence sector.
Amphenol, headquartered in Wallingford, Connecticut, is a manufacturer of antennas, sensors, fibre optic connectors and specialty cables. Its solutions are used in a wide range of industries from aerospace to information technology. Amphenol has a market value of over $133bn
Amphenol shares are adding 1.2 per cent during trading on Monday.
