The new M5 chip, built on a 3-nanometre process, has a 10-core GPU and an advanced Neural Engine that performs up to 38 trillion operations per second – six times more than the M1. This allows the tablet to process photos, videos and AI tasks faster directly on the device.
The processor has 30 per cent more memory bandwidth and faster SSD storage. The new models offer 12GB of RAM and up to 2TB of internal storage.
The iPad Pro’s body remains ultra-thin-5.1mm in the 13-inch version and 5.3mm in the 11-inch version. The Ultra Retina XDR display is based on Tandem OLED technology, providing a peak brightness of 1600 nits and a contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1.
The tablet gets Wi – Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 support, with the C1X modem providing faster connectivity. Through the USB – C port with Thunderbolt 4, you can connect external 6K monitors and SSDs.
The main camera remains 12 MP, but now has a new sensor with improved low-light performance. The front camera, as in the iPad Air 2024, has been moved to the long edge – for better video calling in horizontal orientation.
Along with the tablets, Apple introduced a new Magic Keyboard with an aluminium surface and feedback trackpad, as well as Apple Pencil Pro (2nd generation), which now supports tactile feedback and changing tools by pinching the stylus.
The new iPad Pro runs on iPadOS 26, which brings an app redesign, an updated windows system, Apple Intelligence support for text and drawing, and a new Preview app for working with PDFs.
Sales will start on 22 October. Pricing is from $999 for the 11-inch model and from $1299 for the 13-inch model. The tablets are available in Space Black and Silver colours.
To recall, the AirPods Pro 3 headphones were also recently released with an updated design, improved noise cancellation (ANC) and better sound quality thanks to the new H3 chip. The headphones offer features such as live translation, a sensor for heart rate monitoring and AI-related features such as conversation recognition.
