Danish brewer Carlsberg has increased its revenue by 3% year-on-year in the first quarter, better than market expectations.
The company said its revenue in the January-March quarter totalled 20.724bn kroner ($3.25bn), up from 20.123bn kroner in the same quarter of 2025. Organic growth in the figure was 3.6 per cent.
The company’s own consensus analysts’ forecast called for revenue of 20.631bn kroner.
Carlsberg’s revenue in Western Europe last quarter increased by 1.5 per cent in organic terms, in Asia by 4.4 per cent and in Central and Eastern Europe by 8.1 per cent.
In volume terms, organic sales growth totalled 2.8%. Carlsberg beer sales increased by 10%, Tuborg by 4% and 1664 Blanc by 2%. Sales of non-alcoholic beers grew by 7% and premium beers by 3%.
The company reaffirmed its 2026 outlook for organic operating profit growth of 2-6%.
Carlsberg’s share prices are up 3.3 per cent during trading on Wednesday. They are down about 6% over the past 12 months.
