China in January-May increased oil production by 1.3% compared to the same period a year earlier – up to 90.28 million tonnes, the State Statistics Office reported.
In particular, in May, production rose 1.8% to 18.47 million tonnes.
At the same time, the volume of oil refining last month fell by 1.8% to 59.11 million tonnes, the lowest in nine months. In January-May, 299.37 million tonnes of crude oil was refined, 0.3% higher than the volume in the same period in 2024.
The country’s natural gas production rose 6% to 109.6 billion cubic metres in January-May, the GSA report said. In particular, last month’s production rose by 9.1% to 22.1 billion cubic metres.
