China’s top diplomat on Tuesday pledged to work with Russia on the “cause of peace.” He said this during a visit to Moscow.
“We will work together to make new contributions to peace and human development,” Wang Yi said, quoted by AFP.
He said “the comprehensive cooperation between China and Russia in the new era will certainly rejuvenate and move to a new stage.”
In January, US President Donald Trump said he” plans to establish fruitful interaction with China “and expressed the expectation that “the PRC can use its influence on Russia to end its war against Ukraine.”
China declares “neutrality” with regard to the Russia-Ukraine war, but since its beginning has provided Russia with diplomatic, economic support and increased trade with Russia and supplies of scarce microelectronics and other goods, in large part to enable Russia to produce weapons and continue its aggression.
