Danone revenue up 0.8% in Q1, comparable sales up 4.3%

  • French food and beverage maker Danone SA increased revenue in the first quarter of 2025 by 0.8%, which was slightly worse than market expectations.

Growth in comparable sales, however, exceeded forecasts.

According to Danone’s press release, revenue last quarter was €6.84bn, up from €6.79bn in the same period last year.

Comparable sales (LfL) were up 4.3 per cent.

Analysts’ consensus forecast, provided by the company itself, called for revenue of €6.85bn and a 3.8% increase in comparable sales.

Sales in volume terms were up 1.9 per cent and prices were up 2.4 per cent.

Comparable sales in the first quarter increased in all categories and regions, the press release said. For example, Europe grew 2 per cent, North America 3.7 per cent, Asia 9.9 per cent, Latin America 9 per cent and other markets 3.3 per cent.

Comparable sales of the dairy and vegetable products division increased by 3.7%, the speciality foods business by 5.3% and water by 4.1%.

Danone reiterated its 2025 forecast that its comparable sales will grow 3-5%.

The company’s shares are adding 0.2 per cent in Wednesday trading. Their value has risen 13.5% since the start of this year.
