British budget airline easyJet Plc in the first half of fiscal 2025 increased its loss by 16%, revenue – by 8%.
According to a press release from the carrier, the loss before tax in the October-March period totalled £401 million ($538 million), up from £347 million in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
Adjusted pre-tax loss (a key metric for the airline that excludes one-off factors) increased to £394m from £350m.
Revenue reached £3.534bn compared to £3.268bn a year earlier. Revenue per passenger seat fell to £69.78 from £69.87.
The airline carried 18.235 million passengers in the January-March period, up 8 per cent on a year ago. Flight load factor in those three months improved to 87.5 per cent from 87.2 per cent.
EasyJet’s share price is down 2.9 per cent in trading on Thursday.
