Eid al-Fitr in 2025 starts on Friday evening 6 June and ends on Tuesday 10 June . Read what you should not do on this day.
The main day of the festive period is 6 June. Festive namaz continue in the mosque. Before the morning prayer, Muslims wash themselves, trim their hair and nails, and put on clean clothes. It is undesirable to eat before the prayer.
After the morning namaz a sacrifice is made – a ram, a cow or a bull that has reached the age of seven months or two years respectively. A healthy animal is chosen for the sacrifice. one sacrifice from one family .
However, the main thing is not the sacrifice, but the atonement for sins. A month and a half before the holiday, a significant part of believers make a pilgrimage to Mecca.
What should not be done on Eid al-Adha
1. You should avoid quarrels and alcohol . In addition to alcohol, you can not use mind-altering substances and the like. After all, this is contrary to Muslim values.
2. Dirty, old and torn clothes should not be worn on the holiday. It symbolises disrespect for the holiday.
3. On this day you should not do hard physical labour. It is better to devote the day to prayers, good deeds, communication with relatives.
4. It is better to spend the day on charity. to refuse to give alms or help to the needy is not allowed in any case.
5. In addition, it is strictly forbidden to torture the animal , which becomes sacrificial. It is forbidden to hurt or disrespect the animal.
6. It is also forbidden to sacrifice an animal that is sick , defective and the like. It is forbidden to sell any part of the animal.
