Estonia is ready to deploy nuclear weapons of NATO allies on its territory, Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said, ERR broadcaster reported.
“We are not against the deployment of nuclear weapons on our territory. We do not have a doctrine that would exclude this if NATO finds it necessary according to our defence plans to place, for example, nuclear weapons on our territory as well,” ERR quoted Tsahkna as saying.
In September 2025, Estonian Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur also reported that the country is ready to deploy British fighter jets capable of carrying nuclear warheads on its territory.
According to Bloomberg, the EU is discussing the creation of its own nuclear defence system, as the US, whose weapons are deployed on the continent, is no longer a reliable military partner. Only the UK and France have their own nuclear weapons. Polish President Karol Nawrocki also announced his intention to start its development.
