Nvidia has fully exited Arm, selling the rest of its shares for $140 million

Nvidia Corp. has sold the remaining stake in British processor developer Arm Holdings Plc, which it had previously tried to buy.

Nvidia said in a statement that it sold 1.1 million Arm shares for $140 million in the fourth quarter of 2025. Thus, Nvidia no longer owns Arm securities.

Nvidia tried to buy Arm from SoftBank Group Corp. For $40 billion in 2020. The deal, which could have been the largest in the semiconductor industry, almost immediately faced opposition from regulators and sector representatives. Arm’s technology underpins most advanced chips, and maintaining the company’s independence was seen as crucial.

Nvidia and SoftBank cancelled the deal in 2022 without regulatory approval. In 2023, the Japanese company listed Arm in an IPO in which Nvidia participated.
