Four US Army soldiers have gone missing in Lithuania during an exercise, search and rescue efforts are ongoing, the US embassy in Vilnius said.
According to the embassy’s press office on the social network X, the soldiers hid at a training range near Pabrade in eastern Lithuania, near the border with Belarus. The embassy did not say when they went missing.
“The soldiers, all from the 1st Brigade of the 3rd Infantry Division, were conducting routine tactical exercises at the time of the incident,” it said.
Earlier, the Lithuanian Armed Forces said four US soldiers and one tracked vehicle were reported missing during the exercise at 16:45 on 25 March.
