Péter Szijjártó, who recently resigned as Hungary’s foreign minister, will retain his mandate in the new Hungarian parliament, according to Fidesz party faction leader Gergői Gujás, quoted by Telex.
According to him, Péter Szijjártó and Transport Minister János Lázár from the government of incumbent Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will continue their political activities in parliament.
Guiaş noted that the FIDES-KDNP faction is undergoing significant changes and renewals.
According to the results of the 12 April elections, Orban’s Fidesz party in coalition with the Christian Democratic People’s Party (KDNP) won 52 seats in the 199-seat parliament, with Orban’s party to have 44 seats in the National Assembly.
