IAEA confirms strike on centrifuge plant in Iran

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) say a new series of strikes on Iran, particularly on the city of Isfahan, where a nuclear centrifuge plant was hit, The Times of Israel reports.

The IAEA later confirmed that the Isfahan nuclear facility had been hit. The agencies director general, Rafael Grossi, assured that there was no risk of radiation danger as there was no nuclear material at the plant.

It is noted that this is the third Iranian nuclear facility attacked by Israel in the past seven days. Prior to that, Israel hit a research centre in Tehran and a workshop producing components for centrifuges in Karaji.

Israel began airstrikes on Iran on 13 June, attacking nuclear, military and energy facilities. Iran responded with missile and drone strikes against Israel.
