In Russia, Shuya, where a missile unit is located, was again attacked by UAVs

The town of Shuya in Russia’s Ivanovo Region has been attacked for the second night in a row by suspected Ukrainian drones, the region’s operational headquarters has said. The administration said the attack was repelled and no one was hurt, Russian state news agency TASS wrote. At the same time, the Russian Defence Ministry did not recall the Ivanovo region in its summary of drones shot down overnight.

Russian telegram channel Astra published a video of the moment of the attack and the fire that started afterwards. The video was reportedly shot by local residents. Astra geolocated one of them, it was filmed 180 metres from the military camp of the 112th missile brigade of the Russian Armed Forces. The author of the video says that there was a fire on the territory of the military unit.

The day before, Shuya, located hundreds of kilometres from the border with Ukraine, was also attacked by drones: Ukrainian sources reported that the target of the strike was a missile unit. According to Russian authorities, two people were lightly wounded.

Authorities in the region said in the morning that in Shuya, school pupils had been switched to distance learning due to the overnight UAV attack. In Ivanovo, schools and kindergartens are operating as usual with precautionary measures in place, the publication said. At the same time, according to a number of reports, residents not only of Shuya, but also of Ivanovo complained about interruptions in the threat warning system.
