Latvian authorities have banned 55 Georgian citizens from entering the country for an indefinite period of time.
“I have decided to add another 55 Georgian citizens to the list of persons undesirable for the Republic of Latvia in accordance with Section 61 of the Immigration Law, Part 2,” Foreign Minister Baiba Brazhe wrote on social media X.
The names of Georgian citizens who are on the list of undesirables were not named. Latvia banned 16 Georgians from entering the country in March 2025.
Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia were the first to announce sanctions against the Georgian authorities amid repression and violence against pro-European integration protesters. In particular, they banned the entry of oligarch Bidzina Ivanishvili, founder of the pro-Russian Georgian Dream party, and former Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri.
