Absolute world boxing champion Alexander Usik (Ukraine) will play in a charity football match in support of the Ukrainian Red Cross (URC) in Lisbon.
“Today in Lisbon there will be a large-scale charity Match of Legends, which will bring together the stars of world football and aims to raise more than EUR 1 million in support of charitable organisations, among which is the Ukrainian Red Cross. The match will be joined by absolute world heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usik,” UCH said on Facebook on Monday.
The World Legends team will be joined by such football stars as Fabio Cannavaro and Alessandro Del Piero (Italy) and Javier Zanetti (Argentina).
Funds raised during the match will help the Ukrainian Red Cross to continue to respond promptly to emergencies, carry out evacuation activities, rebuild housing, and provide psychosocial support to those in need.
