Norway’s natural gas production in June was 8.77 billion cubic metres, down 15.5% from the same month last year, according to preliminary calculations by the Norwegian Offshore Directorate (NOD).

In May, the revised data showed production was 9.27 billion cubic metres, meaning it fell 5.4% for the month. The NOD had forecast production in June at 8.508 billion cubic metres.

Norway’s production of oil, condensate and NGLVs (broad light hydrocarbon fractions) fell 5.9 per cent year-on-year to 1.854 million barrels per day (bpd) last month. Compared to May, it was down 5.8 per cent.

The country’s oil production averaged 1.675 million bpd, down 3 per cent from June 2024 and 6.5 per cent from May. NOD had forecast production at 1.624 million b/s.

Norway’s total hydrocarbon production in the first half of the year, according to preliminary data, was about 116.3 million cubic metres of oil equivalent, of which 50.5 million cubic metres came from oil and 60 million cubic metres from natural gas. cumulative production was 6.8 million cubic metres of oil equivalent less than the figure for the same period last year, NOD said.
