US-based Nvidia Corp. at the Computex conference in Taipei unveiled the first laptops focused on supporting AI agents, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The PCs will initially be produced in collaboration with Dell Technologies, Lenovo Group, Microsoft Corp., HP, Asus and MSI. They are expected to go on sale this autumn, CNBC notes. The computers will run on the Windows operating system.
The lightest laptop will weigh less than 3 pounds (1.4 kg), and the thickness has been reduced to 14 mm.
The new products are aimed at creative professionals, gamers and AI developers and will be in the premium price segment, said Nvidia’s senior director of product development Mark Aevermann.
The tech will be powered by the new RTX Spark chips, which the company calls the most efficient chips ever developed for personal computers. They will subsequently be integrated into 30 laptop models and about a dozen desktop models.
CNBC called the RTX Spark superchips powered by new N1X processors, which were unveiled during a Taiwan conference by Nvidia chairman Jensen Huang. N1X-jointly developed by Nvidia, Microsoft and MediaTek based on the Arm architecture. RTX Spark also includes Nvidia’s Blackwell GPUs.
“Microsoft and Nvidia will change the way we think about PCs,” Huang noted, calling the RTX Spark-based lineup the first completely reimagined PC lineup in 40 years.
According to him, this rethinking can be compared to turning phones into smartphones.
Huang also said that Nvidia’s Vera server processors are in full production, with the company producing millions of these chips for data centres. They will go on sale in the autumn and some of the first customers will be Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI, Dell, Oracle and CoreWeave.
