Two MiG-29 fighter jets of the Polish Armed Forces intercepted and escorted a Russian Il-20 aircraft, which was allegedly carrying out a reconnaissance mission over the Baltic Sea. This was reported by the Polish Operational Command.
The incident took place on 28 October. According to the Polish Armed Forces, the Russian aircraft was carrying out a reconnaissance mission in international airspace with its transponder switched off and did not provide a flight plan.
The aircraft did not enter Polish airspace.
