The United States has not stopped supplying weapons to Ukraine, but this is the assistance that was approved by Congress earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said during a speech before a Senate committee.
“this (approval of an additional request regarding military aid to Ukraine – ed.) is already another decision, this is another issue that is not for me to decide. The White House would have to approve the decision on whether to ask Congress for an additional request, but everything that has been approved and approved by Congress is actually ongoing, to the extent that Ukraine has requested,” he said, responding to a question about additional military aid to Ukraine.
Rubio noted that Ukraine had approached the U.S. regarding additional air defence assets.
“About Patriot, which we frankly don’t have, but we are working closely with our NATO allies. NATO allies have several batteries of Patriot missiles that they could provide or transfer to the Ukrainians to protect, for example, the airspace of Kiev and other places,” the US Secretary of State added.
