Slovenian President Natasa Pirc Musar signed a decree on Tuesday scheduling regular parliamentary elections for 22 March, the presidential administration said.
“They (elections – ed.) are an opportunity for us as a community to think about what kind of Slovenia we want, what values we want to uphold, what kind of society we want to build and what kind of future we want to leave to future generations,” she said.
The President called on representatives of all political parties, the media and the general public to communicate respectfully, tolerantly and responsibly, and emphasised that during the campaign, content must be prioritised over politics.
“I do not want any deviation from the pro-European path that brought stability, security and development to Slovenia,” she added.
In December 2022, Natasa Pirtz Musar became president of Slovenia.
