A Su-30SM fighter jet crashed in Karaganda Region on 25 February while performing routine training flights, Kazakhstan’s Defence Ministry said.
According to the ministry, the aircraft crew ejected and the pilots survived. The area of the crash has been cordoned off. There is no threat to the population and infrastructure.
Kazakhstan’s Defence Ministry has set up a commission to establish the causes and circumstances of the incident, headed by the head of the flight safety department.
According to the results of the investigation of the incident plan to give a legal assessment and make a procedural decision, the report says.
Earlier in Turkey crashed a fighter jet F-16.The Turkish Defence Ministry said that communication with the plane, which took off from the 9th main airbase in Balikesir, was lost at 00:56 on 25 February. The pilot was killed. The cause of the crash is being established.
