US President Donald Trump has extended for another year a ban on ships belonging to Russia or with ties to Russian Federation entering US ports.
This is stated in the document, which was published in the US Federal Register.
“The policies and actions of the Russian government continue to present a national emergency because of the violation or threat of violation of international relations of the United States. Therefore, I am extending for one year the national emergency with respect to the Russian Federation and emergency powers to regulate the mooring and movement of vessels associated with Russia to the ports of the United States,” – stated in the decree Trump.
It is noted that the document was signed on 15 April 2025.
In April 2022, US President Joe Biden said that the United States prohibits Russian ships from entering US ports. After that, Washington continued this ban.
