Trump has arrived in the UK for a second state visit

US President Donald Trump has arrived in the UK for his second state visit, which will be accompanied by a banquet at Windsor Castle and during which the countries are expected to sign investment deals.

A guard of honour met Donald Trump and his wife Melania as they stepped off Air Force One at Stansted Airport near London on the evening of September 16.

. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s office said the visit would demonstrate that “the relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States is the strongest in the world, built on 250 years of history”.

Trump expressed expectations before the visit that the trip would be incredible.

On 17 September, King Charles III will host the Trumps at Windsor Castle for a lavish feast, and on 18 September, the US president will meet Britain’s prime minister at his country residence.

As Western agencies note, the visit plan is for Trump to avoid a planned mass protest against his visit in London.

Trump is the first US president to be invited on two state visits to Britain. In 2019, during his previous term as president, Trump was hosted by Queen Elizabeth II.
