“The ceasefire is now in effect. Please do not violate it!”,- Trump wrote in his message on the social network Truth Social.
Earlier, Trump announced that a “complete and absolute” ceasefire had been reached in the conflict between Israel and Iran, which is set to take effect in stages, ending the “12-day war.” He said on the night of 24 June (Kiev time) that the ceasefire would be implemented in stages within 24 hours, “after which the war will be considered over”.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said Iran’s military operations against Israel “continued until the last minute, until 4 a.m. (local time).”
Before that, he wrote on social networking site X that there is no “agreement” yet on any ceasefire or cessation of military operations, but provided that “the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 a.m. Tehran time, we have no intention to continue our response after that.”
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said the country had eliminated “the twin immediate existential threat – both in the nuclear and missile sectors.” Netanyahu said Israel had agreed to a proposed U.S. ceasefire with Iran, adding that it would “respond resolutely” to any violation of it.
Reuters, citing an official with knowledge of the talks, reported that Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani secured Tehran’s agreement to the U.S. ceasefire proposal during a phone call following Iranian airstrikes on a U.S. airbase in Qatar.
According to Reuters, the Emir spoke with Trump, who told him that Israel had agreed to the ceasefire and asked Qatar to help secure Tehran’s agreement.

Iran has repeatedly claimed that its nuclear programme is peaceful.
At the same time, according to the IAEA, Iran had more than 400 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60%, which is close to the level sufficient to create several nuclear warheads in a short time.
