Unidentified man attacked Czech brigadier general with a knife

A high-ranking Czech military officer was hospitalised in Prague on 26 September after being stabbed following an attack by an unknown assailant, Czech media reported on 27 September.

Brigadier General Roman Chitkha serves as the head of the army’s Intelligence Support Department. In this position, as Novinky.cz notes, he is also responsible for the development of unmanned systems in the Czech army. Media outlets describe him as close to Chief of General Staff Karel Rzeczeki.

The 47-year-old general, who has repeatedly participated in combat missions, particularly in Afghanistan, was operated on. There is no exact information about the nature of his injuries, but he was able to personally answer questions from the Aktuálně.cz website about what happened. According to him, he was attacked unprovoked by an unknown person with a knife. According to media reports, it happened on the night of 26 September in a restaurant or bar. The police are investigating, no versions have been put forward yet.
