US military death toll in operation against Iran rises to six – command

The US military’s Central Command, which manages operations in the Middle East, said on the evening of 2 March that the number of US military personnel killed during the operation against Iran had risen to six.

“U.S. forces recently recovered the remains of two previously missing service members at a site struck during Iran’s initial attacks in the region,” the statement said.

The identities of the dead will not be released for 24 hours after next of kin report, the command noted.

The United States and Israel have been carrying out coordinated actions against Iran’s Islamist regime since the morning of 28 February. The US Department of Defence said it is called Operation Epic Fury.

The first wave of strikes killed Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei and other Iranian regime officials. In response, the Iranian military struck Israel, US bases in the Middle East region and countries that Iranian authorities consider US allies.
