Vance revealed under what condition he would be willing to become president of the United States

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance said he has received “valuable hands-on training” in more than 200 days on the job and is ready to serve as head of state if necessary. He said this in an interview with USA TODAY on 27 August.

At the same time, Vance emphasised that he was not considering the prospect of the presidency for himself in the near future. He denied speculation about his own political ambitions, noting that when entering the Oval Office for the first time, he noticed the “gloomy curtains” but “did not try them on” for himself.

The vice president said President Donald Trump, who was 78 at the start of his second term, is in “extremely good health” and has “remarkable energy.”

Trump earlier named Vance as the likely next Republican nominee for the 2028 election.
