Samsung smartphones on One UI hide a lot of useful features that are not always obvious. Below we will consider 7 interesting options that will help simplify the use of the gadget and expand its capabilities.
1. Battery Status Checker
Unlike many competitors, Samsung doesn’t show the battery wear percentage in the main settings menu. You can check the status through the official Samsung Members app:
- Open the app → “Diagnostics” section.
- Select “battery status”.
- The system will show an overall rating (e.g. “high”), which will help you understand if the battery needs to be replaced.
2. Music for Two: Connecting two pairs of headphones
Samsung allows you to stream sound to two Bluetooth devices (headphones or speakers) at the same time:
- Connect both pairs via Bluetooth.
- Lower the message curtain and tap “media output”.
- Tick both devices-sound will play simultaneously and the volume of each can be adjusted separately.
3. Paranoia mode: completely disable the camera and microphone
If you want to protect yourself from being tracked by apps, activate “Sensors off”:
- Switch on “developer mode” (settings → phone info → software info → tap “build number” 7 times).
- In the developer menu, find “Quick settings tiles…” and switch on “sensors off”.
- You will now see an icon in the quick settings curtain that disables the camera and microphone for all programmes.
4. Swiping Edge Panels
The Edge panel isn’t just a list of apps. Through the Galaxy Store, you can add widgets:
- Go to Edge Panel settings → Galaxy Store.
- Search for “Panel” to find calculator, calendar, or voice recorder widgets that will open on top of any window.
5. Change the system sound theme
If you are bored with the standard system sounds, you can replace them with more interesting ones:
- Settings → Sounds and vibrations → System sound.
- Choose a theme, such as “fun”, to change the sound atmosphere of the interface without changing the visual theme.
6. Removing the volume limitation of Bluetooth headphones
If the sound seems quiet due to security restrictions:
- Settings → Sounds and Vibration → Volume.
- Tap the three dots in the top corner → “Media Volume Limit”.
- Switch the setting off to get the maximum sound power.
7. Adjusting the brightness of the torch
You can change the brightness of the torch at 5 levels:
- Lower the curtain → tap on “torch” under the icon.
- In the menu, activate the brightness slider to save charge or to get a powerful beam.
