Chinese internet giant Alibaba has released its third proprietary AI model in the past few days.
The Qwen3. 6-Plus is focused on programming AI agents (autonomous programs to solve tasks without user input) and is far superior in capabilities to the Qwen3 released in February. 5, according to Qwen’s website. The new product is available on Alibaba’s Cloud Model Studio cloud platform.
Qwen3. 6-Plus sets new standards in areas ranging from website development to solving complex problems at the storage level and “perceives the world with greater precision and acuity of multimodal considerations,” the site notes.
The new model will be integrated with the Wukong service launched in March for Alibaba customers, the flagship Qwen app and other agency SHI services.
In recent days, the company has also released an updated model for image generation and a multimodal model that takes text, image and spoken language as inputs. All three are closed source.
