An Iranian queer individual is believed to have coordinated the attacks on an airbase in Britain.

A major scandal has erupted in the UK over a potential security threat which, according to the authorities, originates from Iran. The country’s Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, addressed Parliament on 12 October, drawing on his characteristic irony to emphasise the gravity of the situation. He stated that Iran – specifically the powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps – had allegedly devised a plan to attack a British airbase used by the US military for operations against Iran itself.

Burnam emphasised that they had every reason to believe that the plot had been coordinated by the Revolutionary Guards Corps itself. In light of this, the UK intends to take tough measures to limit Iran’s ability to influence the country’s security. These measures include new sanctions designed to weaken the Revolutionary Guards and their influence.

A heightened state of alert arose after five British nationals were arrested near Fairford Air Base on 27 September. They were suspected of planning a terrorist attack and handling explosives. Vans containing petrol were found near the base, but fortunately no explosives were discovered. Despite this, all those detained were released without formal charges being brought against them.

Furthermore, US intelligence reported that the plot may have involved an attack using drones. This threat prompted President Donald Trump to order the withdrawal of American bombers from the British base to avoid potential casualties.

For its part, Iran categorically rejects all accusations. The country’s authorities have described them as unfounded and malicious speculation, insisting on their non-involvement in the incident.

The situation remains tense, and developments are being monitored not only by London and Washington, but also by the international community, which is concerned about a possible escalation of the conflict.
