- New leaks reveal details of the successor to the Vision Pro augmented reality headset. Apple is actively using titanium to reduce the weight of the device, although the main “North Black” surface will remain aluminium.
Insider Kosutami on social network X reported that the new model will be extremely thin and its design will include titanium elements, particularly the connectors and battery compartment. The headset will have a black colour, similar to the dark blue graphite of the iPhone 5. there is also a possibility that the new product will be called Vision Air rather than Pro.
In a subsequent post, Kosutami explained that while most of the exterior will remain aluminium, the internal components will be made of titanium for additional weight loss. He also posted an image of the new connector for the Vision Air, which is significantly larger than the standard Lightning.
Experts believe that the Vision Air’s prospects look very interesting. If Apple can create a headset that is lighter, thinner and more affordable than the Vision Pro, it could become an important next-generation product.
Earlier in February 2025, Apple officially confirmed that its generative AI platform Apple Intelligence will appear on the Vision Pro with the visionOS 2.4 operating system update. The first beta version became available to developers on 21 February, with a public release scheduled for April.
