Chief of the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO), Russian Commander Andrei Serdyukov said that the CSTO exercise “Interaction-2025,” scheduled for early September, would be held at two firing ranges in Vitsebsk voblast of Belarus – Losvida and Lepelski. This is reported by the Belarusian service of Radio Liberty with reference to the state news agency BelTA.
The peculiarity of these exercises is that their plans are closely related to the plans of joint strategic exercises of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation Zapad-2025,” said Serdyukov.
According to him, the Interaction-2025 exercise will be the main event of the CSTO operational and combat training. For this purpose, special exercises will also be held with the forces and means of intelligence “search-2025”, as well as with the forces and means of logistical support of the Collective Rapid Reaction Force “echelon-2025”.
Serdyukov added that more than 5,000 servicemen and about 1,000 units of military equipment will take part in the CSTO exercises, which are already being deployed at the training grounds.
August 12, the Ministry of Defence of Belarus announced that the exercise “West-2025” would be held from September 12 to 16. The main purpose of the exercise is to test the capabilities of Belarus and the Russian Federation to ensure security and repel possible aggression.
