On 29 July, the Ministry of Defence of Belarus stated that a drone was intercepted in Minsk at night, with no casualties.
The message of the Ministry of Defence of Belarus is quoted by the official BelTA agency. It is stated that the air defence forces detected “the flight of an unknown aerial target – an airspace violator” over the territory of Belarus.
According to the report, the target was identified as a drone, which as a result of “the impact of electronic warfare” fell “near the house №72 on Matusevicha Street in Minsk.”
The Ministry of Defence noted that, given this incident, “additional measures to strengthen control over the use of airspace are promptly taken,” while the situation is under the personal control of Alexander Lukashenko.
The message is also accompanied by photos of the allegedly shot down drone. The message does not specify what model of drone we’re talking about, who could have launched it, whether the drone had an impact part with explosives.
Matusevicha Street is located in the north-west of the Belarusian capital.
