Russia’s leading air carrier Aeroflot says it has been carrying out its flight programme as scheduled since 10:00 on July 29. The airline’s press service specified that 216 paired flights from Moscow and back out of 233 previously scheduled flights will be operated on 29 July.
“Until 10: 00, the company carried out point cancellations of flights, further the programme of Aeroflot’s own flights has stabilized,” the statement said.
According to the agency “Interfax”, which analyzed the data of the online board of the base airport “Sheremetyevo” for “Aeroflot”, the airline in the first half of the day on July 29 cancelled more than 50 flights. We are talking about 22 flights from “Sheremetyevo” and another 31 flights in the direction of the Russian capital.
According to the airline, about 80% of flights from the planned daily flight programme were carried out on July 28. The cancellations mainly concerned flights from Moscow and back, Aeroflot said.
On the morning of July 28, Aeroflot reported a malfunction in its information systems and possible flight postponements and cancellations. Responsibility for the attack on the airline’s servers was taken by the hacker group Silent Crow, which announced a large-scale operation in conjunction with the Belarusian “Cyberpartisans. As a result, dozens of flights were cancelled, Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport collapsed due to delays, and Aeroflot, according to experts, lost at least 250 million rubles during the day.
