China’s steel production in January-February fell 3.6% year-on-year to 160.34 million tonnes, according to the country’s State Statistics Office.
Iron production fell 2.7% to 137.7 million tonnes.
Steel production fell 1.1% to 221.2 million tonnes.
Steel exports for the two months decreased by 8.1% to 15.59 million tonnes, while imports fell by 21.7% to 827,000 tonnes.
As reported, by the end of 2025, steel production in China fell by 4.4% to 960.81 million tonnes, which was the lowest volume in seven years.
