Zaporizhkox PJSC, one of Ukraine’s largest producers of coke and chemical products and a member of the Metinvest Group, reduced its production of blast furnace coke by 2.97 per cent in January–July this year compared with the same period last year, to 497.75 thousand tonnes.
According to the company’s data, 63,400 tonnes of coke were produced in July, compared with 74,900 tonnes in the previous month and 78,900 tonnes in July 2025.
“Among the main factors that contributed to the decline in production volumes in July 2026 compared with the same period in 2025, – a reduction in coal concentrate supplies due to the blockage of Ukrainian Black Sea ports caused by the aggressor country’s constant attacks on international merchant vessels, in particular those carrying raw materials for the Ukrainian metallurgical industry,” the press release explains.
As previously reported, in 2025 ‘Zaporozhkoks’ increased its output by 2.7 per cent compared with 2024 – to 898.3 thousand tonnes, whilst in 2024 it rose by 2.1 per cent to 874.7 thousand tonnes, up from 856.8 thousand tonnes in 2023.
“Zaporozhkoks” operates a full technological cycle for the processing of coke-chemical products.
Metinvest is a vertically integrated mining and steel group. Its main shareholders are the SCM Group (71.24%) and Smart Holding (23.76%). Metinvest Holding LLC is the management company of the Metinvest Group.
