London Stock Exchange Group Plc (LSEG), the operator of the London Stock Exchange (LSE), will use technology from the US company Nvidia Corp. to help financial institutions speed up and scale the processing and analysis of large volumes of historical market data.
According to LSEG, the use of Nvidia’s custom processors could help analyse trades and quotes in a matter of seconds without creating copies of the data. This will speed up research and bring it closer to real-time in the context of round-the-clock share trading, the British company said in a statement. Next year, it plans to launch LSE 24 – a platform for night-time trading in exchange-traded products (ETPs).
The partnership with Nvidia will expand the capabilities of LSEG’s clients when using its Tick History platform, notes Ron Lefferts, co-head of Data & Analytics at LSEG. “Clients want to work quickly with detailed historical data,” Reuters quotes him as saying.
Tick History is an archive of detailed market information spanning more than 30 years, containing around 110 trillion data rows across 100 million instruments and 580 trading venues.
