Erdogan during conversation with Putin offered to host third round of talks between Ukraine and Russian Federation in Istanbul

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has held a telephone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, the Turkish leader’s office has said in a statement on social network X.

It is known that the parties discussed the possibility of a new meeting of delegations of Ukraine and Russia in Istanbul.

“Erdogan noted the importance of the beginning of the third round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine and said that Turkey is ready to continue hosting meetings in Istanbul when the parties determine the relevant dates,” – specified in the office of the Turkish President.

In addition, Erdogan and Putin discussed bilateral relations between Turkey and Russia, as well as regional and global issues. In particular, the Turkish leader called the clashes in the Syrian region of Suweida “a threat to the entire region.” He also noted the importance of Israel “not violating Syria’s sovereignty.”

“Turkey wants to ensure stability and security in Syria and to quickly rebuild the country,” Erdogan said.
