German prosecutor’s office doesn’t comment on the issue of arrest warrants over Nord Stream undermining

The press office of Germany’s attorney general declined to comment on the existence of arrest warrants for suspects in the 2022 attack on the Nord Stream pipeline.

“We do not comment on media reports,” said Ines Peterson, spokeswoman for the attorney general.

Peterson clarified that the German attorney general’s office generally provides information regarding arrest warrants already executed. But those that are still in force, the office does not comment.

The day before, German media reported that Germany had issued arrest warrants for seven suspects in the attack on the Nord Stream pipeline in 2022. The investigation believes that it has identified all the perpetrators of the operation, and all of them are Ukrainian citizens.

According to journalists, the coordinator of the attack has been detained in Italy and Germany is demanding his extradition. He is accused of anti-constitutional sabotage, organising the bombing and destroying buildings. He faces up to 15 years in prison.

One of the alleged participants died at the front. Others are probably hiding in Ukraine. One of them tried to be detained in Poland, he escaped from the investigation on the car of the Ukrainian military attaché, German media wrote. Germany has not yet demanded the extradition of the likely perpetrators of the explosion outside Kiev.
