In central London, in the Covent Garden area, a knife attack took place on the afternoon of 5 August. An unidentified woman attacked passers-by, injuring them.
According to Sky News and other British media outlets, at least four people were injured and taken to hospital. Paramedics used not only ambulances but also a helicopter.
The police have detained the attacker. She is a 47-year-old woman. Her name and possible motives have not been disclosed. She has been arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of a weapon and assault.
Camden Police Station told the press that the investigation is in its early stages, but the police suspect the attacker may be suffering from a mental health condition. The police seized several pairs of scissors at the scene.
