In the United States in the city of Shreveport (Louisiana) there was a shooting: the attack killed eight children aged one to 14 years, local media wrote.
According to the police, the incident occurred in the morning of 19 April after a call about a family conflict. Law enforcers arriving at the scene found a large-scale crime scene-shooting covered several locations at once.
A total of 10 people were wounded. Two of them survived, but their condition has not yet been disclosed.
After committing the crime, the suspect fled the scene, commandeering a vehicle nearby and attempted to elude police. During the pursuit in Bossier Parish, law enforcers shot and killed the assailant.
Police noted that preliminary reports indicate that the gunman acted on his own. It is also known that some of the children who died could have been his relatives. The motives of the crime remain unknown for now.
The state police appealed to people who may have photos, videos or information related to the incident, with a request to share it with the authorities of the state of Louisiana.
Earlier in the US, a shooting occurred during Senior Day festivities on the campus of Lincoln University in Pennsylvania that left one person dead and at least six others injured, the Chester County District Attorney’s Office said.
